John Gruber’s Daring Fireball

John Gruber’s Daring Fireball

This is a site I’ve been meaning to post for a long time, but, as with many others, I just didn’t have the time to get around to it when I wanted to, so I kind of forgot. Daring Fireball is everything a minimalist, content centric site should be; perfect in every sense (at least in my opinion).

Daring Fireball has been live since 2002, displaying John’s insights on the Mac world, stuff from around the web and other technological-geeky stuff. In late April 2006 it became John’s full time job. Kudos to John for pulling this one off! I can only imagine what a pain it must’ve been to get to this point of perfect balance between beauty, simplicity and content richness (I want to be like you when I grow up! ;).

His logo makes me wonder, is he a compulsive converse high-top-chuck-all-star collector as I am?

When I was younger, I was in fact a big fan of Chuck Taylors, and without question the “all-star” idea was a big influence on DF’s design. Thanks for the good words.
