Considering the EPA estimates of 800 million gallons of gas used to fuel lawn mowers in the U.S. every year, out of which about 17 million gallons are spilled, the Neuton® Battery-Powered Mower ($480) may well be the greenest way to mow your lawn this summer — and not the ugliest at that either. Beautiful design, zero CO2 emissions, almost silent compared to regular lawn mowers, no spark plugs or air filters to replace, and no need for a tune-up, ever.
Apparently GeekSugar has picked up an “inside scoop” on the next iMac refresh — which they say would happen as soon as next tuesday. These sort of rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt, but considering how they were right about the MacBooks being updated in the past, the fact that big boys like Engadget and Gizmodo have followed the story as well, and the fact that the iMacs haven’t been updated in a while and are well within their refresh cycle (according to MacRumors), this may very well be the real thing.
Update: MacRumors claims this information has been corroborated by their retail sources.
Danny Blackman makes your eyes smoothly fly over samples of his amazing graphical artwork. He makes excellent use of standard XHTML and CSS, coupled with the slick transition effects of the mootools JavaScript library to deliver what I think is one of the best single-page portfolio websites I’ve seen; a great example of simplicity used to achieve an incredibly smooth and beautiful user experience.
A friend sent me a link to milk.dk—she thought I would like their desk. Boy was she right! I mean, what’s not to like? Electronic height adjustment, built-in [concealed] cable management, modular multifunctional trays; all this without compromising on looks. Designer Søren Kjær really hit a home run with this one.
